Randy Forbes is the President of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation and National Strategic Center, and was a Senior Director at one of the largest law firms in the United States.
Randy has served as a Distinguished Senior Fellow teaching strategy at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Elected to Congress in 2001, Forbes represented Virginia’s 4th Congressional District for 16 years.

He is the third of four generations of military servicemen in his family.During his 22 year career in the United States Army, Lieutenant Colonel West served in several combat zones: in Operation Desert Storm, in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was a Battalion Commander in the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and later in Afghanistan. He received many honors including a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals and a Valorous Unit Award. In 1993 he was named the US Army ROTC Instructor of the Year.

He has authored 7 law review articles on constitutional law, and has lectured throughout the United States and in Europe and Asia (Ukraine, India, Indonesia, Singapore, and Belarus) on the Christian View of Law and Government. In addition to his law degree, Jim earned a Ph.D. degree and is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Virginia, and Florida (inactive).

Faith and music having been lifelong passions, he studied music at both James Madison University and Old Dominion University, and has served as music director and worship leader for various churches in Virginia and North Carolina. At CPCF, he currently serves as Technology Administrator, helping with office administration, store fulfillment, overseeing technology needs, and directing audio and video production.
