Executive Team

Randy Forbes is the President of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation and National Strategic Center, and is Senior Director at the largest law firm in the United States.

Randy has served as a Distinguished Senior Fellow teaching strategy at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. He is on the Board of Directors for the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessment and President of American Defense Dialogues.

Angie is a dynamic and talented leader with more than 24 years of experience in the fields of marketing, financial administration and political campaign management.

Angie serves as a member of the School Board in Chesapeake, Virginia. Angie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion University where she majored in marketing and minored in management. Angie, her husband Chad, and her children Avery and Everson live in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Angie is the Vice President of Operations and Project Development of the CPCF.

Since joining the team in 2009, Summer has helped build and support the American Prayer Caucus Network, identify and train State Directors, track federal and state religious liberty-related legislation, interact with religious freedom experts, connect with the national prayer networks, assist with development of key initiatives, coordinate events like CPCF’s National Religious Liberty Summit, Keep Faith in America and PrayUSA  events, and state capitol events. Also, she develops and advances core strategic action, legal and advocacy efforts, and other communication efforts.

Her university education, business experience, and executive ministry positions has made her a multifaceted leader. Key positions include being a top-producer in real estate, coordination of large-scale events for a ministry in San Diego, California, a co-producer and occasional co-host for an International Christian Television show. Summer enjoys being with family, reading, history, traveling, scuba diving, and adventure.

Allen West is CEO of the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA), a free-market/free-enterprise policy think tank headquartered in Dallas, Texas. He is the third of four generations of military servicemen in his family.During his 22 year career in the United States Army, Lieutenant Colonel West served in several combat zones: in Operation Desert Storm, in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was a Battalion Commander in the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and later in Afghanistan. He received many honors including a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals and a Valorous Unit Award. In 1993 he was named the US Army ROTC Instructor of the Year.

Jim Davids is our newest staff addition to serve you. Jim graduated from Duke Law School, and then practiced law for 25 years in Chicago. He has authored 7 law review articles on constitutional law, and has lectured throughout the United States and in Europe and Asia (Ukraine, India, Indonesia, Singapore, and Belarus) on the Christian View of Law and Government. In addition to his law degree, Jim earned a Ph.D. degree and is licensed to practice law in Illinois, Virginia, and Florida (inactive).

Steven W. Fitschen is the President of the National Legal Foundation (NLF). The NLF is a public interest law firm located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He previously served as the organization’s Administrator, Executive Vice President, and Executive Director. He served for nine years as a member of the Regent University School of Law faculty.

Jamie has been with CPCF since 2018. Faith and music having been lifelong passions, he studied music at both James Madison University and Old Dominion University, and has served as music director and worship leader for various churches in Virginia and North Carolina. At CPCF, he currently serves as Technology Administrator, helping with office administration, store fulfillment, overseeing technology needs, and directing audio and video production.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University, Jessica managed a restaurant for 5 years before moving to a Human Resources Manager position for a small company. Since her start with the CPCF in 2015, Jessica went from Administrator, Office Manager, and now to her position as Program Administrator. She thoroughly enjoys this role as it allows her to work with website, databases, social media, and assisting others while keeping her faith at the forefront. Her and her husband Matthew, who serves in the U.S. Navy, have two children – Addison, 6 and Jackson, 3.

Mr. Rex’s many credentials include an undergraduate engineering degree, a Master of Science in Business Management, as well as the designations of Certified Financial Planner.

Shirley Forbes is a highly effective leader and consultant with over 40 years experience in the workplace. Her areas of expertise include business development, strategic planning, client and government relations and public speaking. Shirley’s leadership has won her several awards in the Hampton Roads, Virginia community. Shirley most recently worked as the Government and Community Relations Administrator at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Speight is a New York Life insurance agent, and a Registered Representative of NYLIFE Securities LLC.

Dr. Vandervelde serves as the Global Ethics Learning Leader at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited. She is experienced in leader development and change management solutions.
