By all accounts, this past Tuesday is being described as the most historic election since the founding of our nation. Exit polling has indicated that Evangelical and Catholic engagement was among the highest ever seen. Christians have committed themselves to prayer and action, attended prayer rallies, and taken to heart the admonishment of 2 Chronicles 7:14 – to humble ourselves, pray, seek God’s face, and turn from our errant ways.
One of the most significant movements the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation has ever launched is the “In God We Trust. Put It Up!” Initiative, recognizing and displaying America’s National Motto. In the past two days we have seen a 300% increase in involvement. I have been deeply inspired to see fellow citizens who understand that we do not trust in man, but that it is In God We Will Trust!
This year marks the 60th Anniversary of when President Eisenhower signed a law in 1956, making “In God We Trust” the official Motto of the United States. God has been the source of America’s hope and confidence since our nation’s inception. Dependence upon God and the integration of a divine Creator into American life even predate our Founding Documents.
Today, over 1.6 million decals have been displayed nationwide. Join your fellow citizens, hundreds of government leaders, faith-based organizations, law enforcement agencies, Christian businesses, and churches, who are all boldly and proudly proclaiming their trust in God by placing decals on their cars and in their homes and offices.
Get your “In God We Trust” decal and take a stand with us. The election may be over, but we must continue to seek God in prayer for our country and for our leaders. No fear… no shame… no regrets… let’s tell the world where we place our trust.
