Victory! Kansas and Oklahoma are now listed amongst the states that have passed laws to protect faith-based adoption agencies.
Kansas Legislative Prayer Caucus Chairman, Rep. Randy Powell, and members of the KS legislature joined forces to champion the cause of religious freedom and ensure this important bill passed In Kansas.
Oklahoma and Kansas joined 7 other states – Alabama, Michigan, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, and Virginia – that have passed similar legislation preventing religious discrimination against faith-based adoption agencies.
Every state in the country allows fostering or adoption by same-sex couples, that was never the issue. But rather, due to the recent erroneous redefinition of marriage through some legislatures and courts, faith-based adoption agencies have been faced with either closing their doors or violating their conscience.
Now, thanks to the courage of our state legislators in 9 states, faith-based adoption agencies can help place children with traditional families without fear of government coercion.
